Criteria for proposals
As sponsorship is an investment strategy for the firm, one needs to begin with the end in mind. Each sponsorship represents an important partnership for KPMG. The following guidelines will help you tailor your next proposal.
Sponsorship objectives
The sponsorship objectives and guidelines below are relevant and important to a professional services firm and should be taken into consideration when applying for sponsorship with KPMG:
- To enhance KPMG's image through association and involvement with your organisation
- To heighten the image of KPMG as a good corporate citizen through involvement with your organisation
- To heighten the image of KPMG as a leading professional services firm
- To build brand name "KPMG" in the market place
- To create new relationships and build existing relationships with clients, target clients, partners and staff; and
- Create opportunities for business development
Sponsorship guidelines
The following guidelines should be considered when preparing your proposal:
- Brief background on your organisation, listing experience, mission statement, long-term goals and other sponsorship or strategic partners
- Concise description of the opportunity
- History of your event or activity; what is the nature of the project and who benefits?
- The geographic location
- Dates, times and duration of the sponsorship, and
- Demographics - who watches or attends? Define your membership, public and audiences
- Sponsorship benefits - How will KPMG be acknowledged or recognised; through publicity, advertising, signage, a combination of all three, or some other way? Who will see this acknowledgement?
- What you specifically require of KPMG - monetary commitment or other contributions
- Details of other sponsors or affiliates; company names, their main business and nature of their sponsorship
Application process
Proposals should be submitted at least three months prior to the scheduled start date. Depending on the scope of the project a longer lead-time may be required.
All proposals are reviewed by the marketing team to assess suitability, feasibility and resources required.
